The design at the door

My favorite piece, the vitage phone!! It reminds me of the movie with Iza Calzado with the past-future love story. I forgot the title though

Soesn’t it look great? It’s bright and very welcoming and it gives you that haciendera feels. My favorite piece, the vintage phone!! It reminds me of the movie with Iza Calzado with the past-future love story. I forgot the title though and I absolutely adore the paintings on the wall, I’m a sucker for art. The book self hold various genres of book that you can borrow while you’re dining, do remember to put it back though and there’s also more than a handful of The Philippines Star newspaper, perfect for coffee.

This is now one of my favorite places to eat, the price is great for the taste, trust me on that one. The food here waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than what hotels serve at occasions. It’s like eating five-star hotel level food for a low cost. The Pan De Suelo  is a must try, you must order it. The cake is very cheap compared to Starbucks, for 85 pesos you can be sent to cake heaven, they also have a wide variety of tea and coffee. They also have availble home made ice cream in Peanut Butter and Jelly, Basil and i forgot the other one. we will definitely try that one next time.

Our Order

DSC_0042

This is the Chicken Bucket Served with either fried or Pan de Suelo (2 pieces) it’s also available in 4 pieces, it just so happens that me and my friend are on a diet when we ate here. We will definitely go back to this foodgasmic joint! This is by far the best tasting chicken I have eaten, not even Max’s, Chooks-to-go, KFC, Jollibee and Mcdonald’s can pass the taste of this chicken. It’s so crunchy and the taste goes to the meat, with most chickens the taste only sticks with the skin, but not this one! The Pan de Suelo is so perfecccccccttttt!

I really recommend this because we left for bout 15-20 minute to interview the owner of the joint for our Media Criticism class and when we came back to finish our meal, it was still as crunchy and tasteful as it was when it was served to us.

DSC_0041

This beauty is the Midnight Chocolate, it’s only 85 pesos and the taste is beyond compare, it’s not too sweet, nor is does it lack taste, it’s just so right. You  have to try this one, the condensed milk on the side is not even like the condensed milk in the can it’s not that sweet, I wouldn’t doubt if they say that it’s home made either.

The Owner

I would like you to meet Mr. Wilson Lee Flores, he owns this foodgasmic joint, he is realty entrepreneur, college teacher, writer and a Philippine Star columnist. he is very brilliant and is very welcoming and kind. I’m lucky to have met someone like him. You can follow him on Twitter, Instagram and like his official Facebook page and do not forget to follow Kamuning Bakery on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook! Tag them in your post when you drop by.

Boots And Chains

For this day, I really felt like being a badass and nothing beats boots and chains for that. I have a very simple outfit to be honest, just a plain v neck shirt, pants and combat boots, I brought  jacket along that day, which was a good thing because the air conditioning unit inside the classroom was blasting off that day.  the hair absolutely unintentionally and perfectly ponytailed, it’s actually a little btt of nostalgia from high school when I was rocking side bangs. The boots are part of my ROTC uniform, yes, I took up ROTC as much as it’s hard to believe, I have evidence lol

No, It’s Not Just You; It’s Him Too

No, she’s not okay and no, HE IS NOT OKAY TOO

She’s hurting and he’s hurting too

She’s faking that smile and he’s acting nonchalant

She’s faking that happiness and he’s masking that longing

She’s crying herself to sleep again tonight, he’s crying because nothing feels alright

She’s strong because she allowed herself to be weak, he’s weak because he’s tired of being strong

She’s weak because she’s tired of being strong, he’s strong because he allowed himself to discover vulnerable

She assumes and never asks because she thinks too much, he didn’t answer because he wasn’t asked

She nags about something he didn’t do that lead him to doing what he said he wasn’t doing

He assumes and asked because he thought about it, she answered differently because she didn’t want to talk about it

He nags about something she didn’t do that lead her to doing what she said she wasn’t doing

She’s scared to lose him and he’s scared to lose her

She loved him and he loved her

She was the talker and he was the listener

She stayed and he thought she wasn’t leaving

He left and she thought he wasn’t coming back

She fucked it up and he fucked it up

She was out there and he was not

Society says she’s great because she got over him but didn’t acknowledge him getting over her

Because she was vocal and he was not

And that is why they think he didn’t care

Vis-à-Vis: The Jeans-on-Jeans

This is actually the first time that I tried the jeans-on-jeans look and I must say I like how it looked. On the day that I wore this, I saw around 3 to 4 other girls wearing jean tops but hey, we wore it in different ways.

Today, I decided to do the light-dark jeans combination pairing it with my shiny black loafers and a layered necklace. My school is a combination of dim red, brown and black, so it makes it really easy to pair with whatever outfit I have in mind.

Midnight Story: The Catch Up

Hey, how are you? It’s been awhile.

I have to tell you stuff, I’m on my last year of school and this semester is killing me, you have absolutely no idea how much of a pain it is, but you know it’ll all be worth it when I march up that stage and get my diploma.

Your sister is so pretty, I still can’t get over how grown up she is right now, I remember running around the house with her when I came over and those cookies your mom used to make that gets me drooling the second I smell the perfection of melted chocolate chips!

Oh! The tailor down the street says hi, I walked by when she saw me. She makes pretty dresses, I hope you saw the red one she recently made, it was divine!

Can I tell you something?  You know, I want to wear an Elie Saab when I walk down the aisle; her gowns are so beautiful that they send chills down my spine. I will definitely wear one, yeah, I will do that. Haha

I’m sorry was that weird for me to say?

Ugh! The sky is so perfect today, do you remember when you took me skinny dipping on the lake last June? The water was so refreshing but then you tried to slip a damn frog inside my swimsuit and ruined that perfect moment for me, you know how much I’m terrified by frogs but still you did it because you’re such an ass. I so hated you that day, you know, but then again the best part of that was the big teddy bear and blueberry cheesecake you gave me to make up for it.

Thank you by the way, for keeping me company all the time even though my stories bore you. You don’t have to hide it, I know, just kidding!

Hmmmm…

You know, even when I close my eyes I can see that smile on your face. You really have big shiny pearly white teeth; you’re like Bugs Bunny “What’s up dock?” lol, it’s crazy how time can zoom before your eyes.

I remember when we told each other how we felt about us, I was like “It was never my intention to fall in love with you, nor was it my intention to make you fall in love with me too.” Then you kissed me, under the stars, in the pouring rain, it was like a movie actually the way it happened haha and you told me that those things never happen in real life then tada! It happened to us.

Good old memories…

I miss you, I really miss you a lot and I wish that you were still here…

Hey, I gotta go, I’ll be back soon okay? Look after me from up there, I love you.

Counting Daisies

Let’s be honest with ourselves, we are at the age where our friends are having babies, some are getting married and people are travelling locally or abroad and here you are barely holding on to dear life because school is killing you, don’t you just stay up at night and wonder where the hell are you going in life, heck what are you doing with life? Well, right now, I’m counting daisies.

There is an idiomatic expression “Pushing Daisies” this is about death, it is normally used in the future tense, for example:

I would be pushing daisies before I could find the right outfit to wear tomorrow!

It’s negative I know, but what I have been thinking is that I have already pushed daisies and is currently counting the daisies I have grown.

How many times have people “killed” you, how many times have you “killed” you to be the person you are today? I mean, we constantly grow and change.  “You’re killing me”, “I feel like I’m killing myself”, “That me is so dead” and “You killed that part of me” are statements that we use to express hurt, pain, sorrow or moving on. I’m counting daisies because I have buried several versions of me or what we call “the old me”, I have killed and buried myself to be reborn only to be killed, buried and reborn again this is a never ending cycle as cliché as it may sound. I look back at the graves of the former me and count all the beautiful daisies that sprung and gave life to the new and current me. Those daisies represent innocence, hope, beginnings, memories and strength; I look at them see that sooner or later I will be reborn again, I will close a chapter in my life and start a new one but I’m not ready to.

A breakup, graduation, a bad situation, back stabbing friends, moments that you wished lasted forever, these are the things that kill us, to be born into a new you. These are things and people that may intentionally or not destroy you and that’s scary, because you will never know when it might happen but sometimes you do and now, at this moment, I know.

It’s so scary to be in a position where you have no control at all, the working you will not be the same as the student you, I see higher batches post struggles and how they wished that they were back in school; they were visiting their old self, picked up a daisy and smelled the aroma of yesterday.

Here I am, just as they are, picking daisies and just wanting to go back but it’s hard to resurrect the person you were before or the moment of yesterday because now you know better and today is what matters. We leave behind the traits, hobbies, people, even the good stuff and everything else behind because if you carry too much luggage you will be stagnant and the cycle of life will continue whether you agree to go with it or not. You don’t have a choice, we don’t have a choice but maybe if we did, we will never be as witty, strong and brave as we are now, so maybe I am thankful for that.

But one thing I’m sure of is that you push daisies conscious or unconscious, but you count daisies consciously.

Silver X Gold: How To Wear That Rectangle Shirt

Here is one way to wear that rectangle shirt, I know my title says it but let me share why it’s Silver X Gold, well because my skirt is actually black and gold but due to me needing to edit the lighting of the photo, I’m not sure if you can see it and then I paired that skirt with silver accessories. What an experiment right? Well, experimenting with fashion is good.

Here is my ensemble:

A white rectangular shirt with the front tucked in an accentuated skirt paired with out-of-the ordinary accessories with black booties. I love those boots, they’re one of my signature pieces. Pairing plains with outspoken pieces ever gets old, it’s like you’re a walking contradiction that compliments each other in a very eye-drawing way.

The Accessories

I am inlove with accessories, they make any outfit pop! the middies are my favorite ones, I’m into the weird -looking-but-can’t-keep-my-eyes-off-of-it-cause-its-pretty kind, just like what you can see here. The necklace is one of my product from my online shop, it’s my best-sellers and I actually made it and if you would want to order one, you can email me at theinvertedtrish@gmail.com and don’t forget to follow my shop The Millennial on Instagram!

RED: Not Loubs, But Still Striking

I like dressing up and very Saturday I get to do it for school and I decided to share one of the outfits I wore.

I usually dress up in accordance with my mood and for that particular day I feel like pulling a New Yorker inspired outfit and ofcourse with a dash of Trish style in it.

I decided to go with the office girl x jeans x stilettos look. This is what it looked like:

The Outfit

Simple yet striking

The Shoes

This is the new addition to my shoe collection, I love heels and apparently it saddens me that the streets in Manila are not conducive for wearing heels as often as you want, so I get all excited when we have events, parties and practically any occasion that I can wear heels. I can’t wear them when we go to malls because: 1. I have to run after kids and 2. people stare at you with judgy eyes, which I really don’t give a flying about anyway. They’re not Christian Louboutin but man! Look at them, they look so perf and so me 😀

photo_2015-08-31_20-22-50

One of the things that you should know about me is that I’m not a label whore, I’m more into the design of clothes, shoes and bags and how they reflect me. I don’t really find the sense in buying really expensive clothes that looks so ordinary besides treating yourself and telling yourself you deserve it. I guess, I’m just really not like that, though it really is nice buying yourself expensive-labelled things or receiving them as gifts. lol I do want to buy my dream Christian Loubs, the Pigalle and Pigalle with Spikes design! Okay, so just remember, what matters is that what you buy and wear should always reflect YOU and that you’re comfortable in them because when you feel you and beautiful in what you wear, confidence just comes bursting through you.
